 CHAIR YOGA FOR SENIORS

I bring my experience of working as an Activity Coordinator in a care home, where I led chair yoga sessions three times a week. Over the time, I witnessed the many positive effects that chair yoga had on the residents. From lifting their mood and encouraging social interaction, to improving mobility and even supporting recovery from existing injuries, the results were truly rewarding.

Chair yoga is a calm and accessible practice. Through gentle postures, breathing techniques, and relaxation, it helps improve flexibility, circulation, and balance. These simple yet effective movements allow seniors to feel more independent, active, and energised in their daily lives.

Alongside the calmer yoga sessions, I also offer Chair Yoga Dance, a joyful combination of gentle exercise and uplifting music. I often blend the two approaches to make the class more engaging and then moving into lively music that encourages them to follow simple movements, bringing laughter, rhythm, and a sense of community to the session.

I currently offer both 30-minute and 1-hour classes, depending on what works best for your residents and schedule.  For new care homes, I am also happy to arrange a trial class, so that residents and staff can experience the benefits of chair yoga before deciding on regular sessions.

As a certified yoga teacher with insurance and years of experience working with older adults, I am committed to providing safe, engaging, and enjoyable classes that nurture both body and mind. My goal is always to create a warm and inclusive space where everyone feels empowered to participate and benefit from the practice.
